Cell Phone Recycling

How are Cell Phones Recycled?

Cell phone recycling is the perfect example of our repair, reuse, and recycle philosophy.

When a cell phone is received, a brief evaluation is performed to determine its age and condition. If it’s a newer working model, personal data is erased and the phone is donated or resold. If the phone is a newer phone, but not in working condition, we are able to harvest parts and use them to repair other phones.

When a cell phone is obsolete or severely damaged, it is sent to a refiner for processing. The plastic and other non-precious metal bearing materials are separated and recycled and precious metals are recovered from the remaining material.

We use domestic processors for all collected material, including cell phones!
