How is a UPS Recycled?

The purpose Uninterruptable Power Supply, or UPS, is to provide momentary power and surge protection to a computer in the event of a brief power failure.

When a UPS is recycled is it dismantled into its individual components such as batteries, metal, plastic, transformers, and wire. The individual components are then further refined to base materials such as lead, copper, plastic etcetera.
